Ethan Bush
Founding Partner
Ethan is an accomplished non-profit leader with significant experience in management, fundraising, and marketing. He has led and managed teams at nearly every stop along his journey, successfully developing and executing high-impact brand and fund development strategies that have raised over $100 million in support of healthcare, higher education, associations, and social and human service organizations. His efforts span across the country but especially here in the Baton Rouge area, the place he calls home.
The mastermind behind three transformational major and planned giving initiatives that generated over $50 million, Ethan’s insightful analysis with an understanding of individual, corporate, charitable foundation support, and current industry trends intersect to provide a unique development perspective unlike any other.
For over a decade, Ethan served as Vice President and Chief Development Officer for Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center (MBPCC) and Cancer Foundation (MBPCF). Along with a development team and volunteers, he led a comprehensive fundraising and fund development program as well as fostered an organization-wide culture of philanthropy across all seven MBPCC locations in the Gulf South.
Ethan is passionate about the needs of his community and believes philanthropy enhances what it is to be human through contributing to the well-being of others. With an entrepreneurial spirit and drive to help businesses and organizations achieve excellence, he founded Thirty Three Strategies (33S) in 2020 as Principal and Advisor. In 2023, he ushered 33S into a new era, welcoming partner Alex Byo onboard to meet the demand of success-motivated clients ready to make critical business decisions that will achieve new levels of success.
Ethan is a graduate of the 2012 class of Leadership Baton Rouge. While he is no longer under 40, he was recognized as a member of the 2016 Baton Rouge Business Report’s Forty Under 40.
A native of Sulphur, Louisiana, Ethan holds a bachelor’s degree from McNeese State University in Lake Charles, Louisiana. He and his wife, Courtney, are proud parents to son, James, and daughter, Sarah.
